The Cambridge Certificate is commonly used for social/non-academic purposes and admittance to vocational and higher education courses. The Cambridge exam features four tests: reading comprehension, writing, listening and speaking.
Cambridge preparation course helps you get ready for the exam. It covers all areas of competency. The English training for the Cambridge exam preparation embraces all aspects of the English language – grammar, vocabulary, writing and reading.
CAMBRIDGE COURSES ARE DIVIDED INTO THREE LEVELS
First Certificate (FCE): requires an Intermediate entry level equivalent to an IELTS score of 5.0 – 6.0.
Advanced (CAE): requires an Upper Intermediate entry level equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.5 and 7.0.
Proficiency (CPE): requires an Advanced entry level equivalent to an IELTS score of 7.5 and 9.0.
To study a Cambridge English course you are required to sit a pre-entry test which is followed by a commencement test when you start. These tests will help your English college determine which levels of learning you are suited to best. To take part in a Cambridge English course you will need to complete a General English course first.
- Cambridge courses are based on 10–12-week modules.
- Cambridge courses have fixed intake dates every three months: January, March, June and September.
- Flexible intake dates are organised by some institutions.
- Cambridge courses are most often scheduled in day-time classes.
- The Cambridge exam can be taken at the end of the course. It is based on the traditional letter grading system: A, B, C (pass); D and E (fail).
